Design
While working at Saatchi, I had the opportunity to redesign this fun Fantasy Football Hall of Fame site. Toyota partnered with Yahoo! to create a Hall of Fame for Fantasy Football players. There was a nomination and voting phase, as well as the reveal. I had such a fun time working on this site with a great team of copy writers and the site was developed by Wildlife.
While trying to keep the overall layout simple, I still wanted to add some character and style to each of the individual elements. Mostly everything written on the site was tongue and cheek and it was actually kind of fun helping out with some of the ideas.
For navigation we wanted to focus the user on a main CTA for each phase, so we centered that in the nav and used a hamburger nav for the overall site content.
The history section was where we had the ability to play around with the layouts and animation. I wanted there to be a variety of fantasy football history, football stats, videos, as well as highlight the Hall of Famers.
It was fun working with the absurd text and the wood panelling was supposed to give the feel of hanging out in a basement in the 80s.
The previous site did not give the Hall of Famers the prominence the team felt they needed. A really cool asset we had for all HOFers, was a digital bronze bust that was similar to something you'd see in an actual Hall of Fame.
There were a few things on the detail page that I wanted to highlight:
• The digital bronze bust
• Their stats
• A quote from the Hall of Famer
• Description of why they're a Hall of Famer
